Gaia DR3 · Explore to G = 15
A deeper sky.
36,909,365 Gaia DR3 sources have mean magnitude G ≤ 15. Universum queries visible sky regions through CDS/VizieR; the entire dataset is not downloaded at startup.

Enable Gaia in the planetarium Catalogues tab or Saturn button. All catalogues are enabled by default. Zooming raises the limit from 6 to 15, subject to the magnitude slider. An Internet connection is required; incomplete loading and service failures are reported.

Understanding the data
G is Gaia’s broad photometric band: G = 15 does not mean V = 15. ICRS coordinates refer to epoch 2016.0; proper motions are applied when available. Colours, temperatures and distances are not inferred arbitrarily. Catalogue sources are not all confirmed stars.
62,723 sources with G ≤ 8 are bundled for immediate wide views; fainter sources load online.
UNI · Universum
Each source receives a UNI reference. Unambiguous official HIP/TYC matches reuse their existing UNI identifier; others use UNI-0008 followed by the 16 hexadecimal digits of the Gaia source_id. Existing references remain valid.
